1. Introduction

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy describes what we collect when you use the Treklie web map service and how we use it.

2. Data Collection

Account: we only process account data for users who register. At sign-up, certain fields are required (email, password, username, display name, date of birth). Any further profile or settings fields are optional. Content you create in the service (e.g. posts, comments) if you use those features. Technical data related to your visit (e.g. IP address, browser type). Map assistant: we send your messages to our servers so we can reply and show your conversation history. We collect basic statistics about how the website is used (e.g. which pages are viewed); processing takes place in Europe. The map also loads data from external providers; they may process technical data in the usual way. Some choices (e.g. map mode) may be remembered on your device in the browser; see the section on cookies.

3. Data Usage

We use your data to run and improve the service, communicate with you, protect users, and secure accounts. Assistant conversations are used to answer you and show history. Statistics help us understand how the service is used. We do not sell personal data. If you sign in via another service (e.g. Google or Apple), their rules also apply.

4. Data Storage

Account-related data and service content are stored on our servers in Europe. Assistant conversations are kept for as long as needed to operate the service and your account. We apply standard safeguards against unauthorized access.

5. Location on the map

If you choose to show your location on the map, the browser asks for permission and uses your device location. We only use it to center the map in your browser; we do not send that location to our servers for this.

6. Cookies and saved settings

After you sign in, we use cookies so you stay logged in; we configure them to protect your session as well as we can. The browser may also remember some map and appearance settings on your device so you do not have to choose them again. We do not store passwords or account credentials there.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can also withdraw your consent to data processing. Contact us to exercise your rights.
